What is VQ Day?

VQ Day is a national celebration of vocational qualifications for students, teachers and employers. It shines a light on and recognises the millions of talented and skilled people throughout the UK who are awarded VQs.

VQ Day was launched in 2008 to raise the status of practical and vocational learning and celebrate vocational achievement. The 5th annual VQ Day is taking place on Wednesday 20th June 2012. More details will follow soon.

Wales

Wales hosted two key VQ Day events: at the National Museum for Wales in Cardiff and at Northop College in North Wales. The VQ Learner of the Year Award ceremony was hosted by inspirational Arctic ultra-marathon winner Lowri Morgan and presented by Jeff Cuthbert AM, Welsh Government Deputy Minister for Skills. The Scottish Government is committed to developing a system that is both centred on the individual while responsive to the needs of employers.
